Rocky Island is one of the newest and offbeat tourist destinations of Dooars in North Bengal. A preferred picnic spot, the downhill island sits on the bank of River Murti 2 kilometers from Samsing, another popular tourist destination. This pebble-filled destination has gained popularity as it offers excellent river camping opportunities. Surrounded by thick forests, Rocky Island is serene, away from drastic commercialisation, and supports basic tourist amenities. For anyone interested in this tour, a visit to the destination would be a lovely tryst with nature. From here, you can also explore the nearby Neora Valley National Park. The place even provides ample opportunities for adventure fanatics who are interested in activities like rock climbing, trekking, and rappelling. The preferred trekking destinations here are Jhandidara, Mo-chuki, Bhalukope, and Sherpagaon, Bhattitar, and Jhula Bridge. Other than that, some massive rocks adorn the place, namely Neel Kanta, Bhimsen, Pathar Kailas, and Hansdunga. They are very much climbable. There’s also a riverside cave that you can explore. The road to Rocky Island comes to an end at the Murti bridge, where the river is narrow; you can enjoy a dip here.
