Yumthang valley is a major attraction for tourists in Sikkim and is located approximately 128 km from Gangtok. The meadows, the yaks grazing by the side of the Teesta River, heavenly mountains scenically located around numerous hot springs, all of this pull the tourist towards the valley. The whole valley is covered with flowers and is located at an altitude of 11,000 feet above sea level. The best time to visit the valley is from late February to March, as at this time, the locals celebrate the Losar festival. To see the blooming rhododendrons and the valley at its peak glory, the best time to visit it is between April and June.
